Chief of Police

The White Mountain Apache Tribe Police Department currently is lead by the Chief of Police, Theodore Shaw.

Chief Shaw grew up in the town of McNary. He began working for the Tribe in 2001 when he became a Corrections Officer.

 

In 2002 he went on to become a Police Officer working for the Gila River Police Department. He went on the work for the San Carlos Police and the Navajo County Sheriffs Office before coming back to Whiteriver.

While working for the Whiteriver Police Department, he has served in several positions. He served as a Sergeant, Canine Officer, and Lieutenant for the department. In July of 2019 he was appointed as the Chief of Police for the White Mountain Apache Police Department and has served diligently ever since.

He inspires his officers with his commitment to the protection of our Tribe.
