Public Safety Officers
The White Mountain Apache Police Department is a federally accredited public safety agency staffed by uniformed professionals committed to protecting the public and reducing crime on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The White Mountain Apache Police Department employs 27 sworn officers, including 18 patrol officers.
Since its inception, the White Mountain Apache Police Department has focused on establishing law enforcement within the reservation borders, building trust with local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring tribal community safety, building local community, county, and state partnerships. During events when the need for officers is high, the White Mountain Apache Police Department partners with the law enforcement division of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, the Navajo Nation, Navajo County Sheriff's Office and the nearby town of Pinetop.
